TIMELINE AND PROCESS

Over the next few months, together, we are shaping the future of Fanshawe College through the development of our new Strategic Direction. Our collective efforts will unfold across four key phases, with every step grounded in the College community's involvement and collaboration.

PHASE 1 – SCOPING and PROJECT PLANNING

(September 2024 to January 2025)

This phase has been completed. With input from a cross-section of the Fanshawe community, during the first phase of this project we:
● Deﬁned the scope, guiding principles and success criteria for the outcome of this initiative.
● Reﬂected on insights gained from the previous planning documents and processes.
● Developed clarity on roles and responsibilities.
● Designed a customized input process based on the feedback received, and the goals and lessons learned.

Phase 2 – COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

(February and March 2025)

This phase was all about you — our Fanshawe community! We hosted a series of engagement sessions in person and online, as well as conducted a survey to gather input from students, faculty, staff and the broader community. More than 600 of you participated and we collected over 4,000 pieces of data, thoughts, ideas, suggestions. Thank you!! Your input was critical in helping shape the future of our College and draft the Strategic Direction.

PHASE 3 – CREATING AND VALIDATING OUR STRATEGIC DIRECTION

(April and May 2025)

Over the past two months, hundreds of you responded to our initial call for input. Thank you!

We’ve taken what you shared, combined it with key external insights and guiding documents, and drafted our first version of the new strategic direction.

You are now being invited to share your comments on the draft between May 2 and May 14.

Phase 4 – THE BIG LAUNCH

(June to September 2025)

The finish line is in sight! During this final phase, we will polish the Strategic Direction based on the validation feedback, finalize all components and present the plan for Board approval. During the summer, once approved, we will develop an implementation plan to ensure the Direction document gets put to good use across the College. Then, it’s time to celebrate! We will unveil the new Strategic Direction at various events at the beginning of the semester in September. The launch will be followed by a College-wide rollout to our entire Fanshawe community. We can’t wait to share this vision for the future with all of you.
